Thayer County Health Services Annual Freedom Fun Run
This event takes place on July 4, 2026, at the Hebron Fire Department, 440 Jefferson Ave, Hebron, Nebraska, and coincides with the town’s Fourth of July festivities. The day includes a pancake feed, a car show, a parade, and other community activities.
Offered distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1 mile run/walk
- Coed 5K relay, four person team, at least one female per team
The 5K course runs throughout the city of Hebron on a mostly flat paved surface and can be run or walked. The coed relay divides the 5K into four sections with marked exchange zones; each relay team must include at least one female and is asked to provide an item to exchange at the zones. Relay entries are online registration only and further information will be provided to registrants after registration.
The 1 mile run/walk is offered free for all participants and is intended for a wide range of ages and abilities; an adult running buddy is encouraged for participants under age 12. T shirts are available at no charge for those who register before June 19. Pre registration packets can be picked up at the Korff Fitness Center on July 3 and on the day of the event.
