That's No Moon Trail Races
That's No Moon is a series of trail events held in Cleveland National Forest and the Santa Ana Mountains near Silverado, California. The courses run on forest roads and travel through remote sections of the Santa Ana Mountains in Orange County. The terrain is very rough and can be subject to extreme weather at times. Runners will encounter exposed ridgelines, significant elevation gain, and demanding climbs.
Distances include:
- 50 Mile
- 50K
- 30K
Aid stations are described as well stocked and provide support at multiple on-course locations. Parking is available at the start and finish area. Race rules require each runner to carry their own food, fluids, clothing, and supplies between aid stations and to carry a minimum of 40 oz of water. Lights are required for running after dark. Crew access, pacer rules, and drop bag locations vary by distance; pacers are allowed in the 50 Mile event and crew access is limited to a specific aid station on that course.
The 50 Mile event awards Sterling Silver Tickets to the top two male and top two female finishers; recipients receive guaranteed entry into the following year's Angeles Crest 100 but must pay their race entry fee and complete eight hours of trail work. Live tracking and chip timing are provided, and post race food and finisher recognition are included among event services. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
