The courses feature significant elevation gain and exposed ridgelines. Key statistics for each distance include total elevation gain, maximum elevation, and a defined time limit. Aid stations are well stocked and located along the routes; live split tracking is available on race day. Runners must carry their own food, fluids, clothing, and at least 40 ounces of water. Lights are required for running after dark and may be mandatory to finish if running past 5:00 PM. Parking is available at the start/finish area.
Race logistics include drop bag locations and rules for crew and pacers. For the 50 mile race, crew access is allowed only at Silverado and pacers are permitted with specified pickup points. The top finishers in the 50 mile race earn Sterling Silver tickets and guaranteed entry into the following year's Angeles Crest 100, with recipient responsibilities including the race entry fee and trail work hours. Race perks include gender specific race shirts, chip timing, post race food, and finisher awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
