TexelTrail
TexelTrail is an organized trailrun over the dune and beach landscape of Texel. The routes are almost entirely unpaved and run through varied terrain with shell paths, narrow sand trails, loose sand and mud. The event highlights the open character of the island landscape and running close to nature.

The marathon is composed of a first loop of 24 km followed by a second loop of 18 km; the second loop follows the same route as the 24 km course except for the section to De Slufter. Start and finish are located at De Krim Texel, with start number pickup and changing rooms in Restaurant De Waddenhoeve.
The entry fee covers on-route refreshments and volunteer support, timing, free shuttle bus transport to and from the ferry, a free postrace sport massage, and a TexelTrail keychain. Ten percent of the fee (excl. VAT) goes to Staatsbosbeheer.

- 42,2 km: aid at km 6, km 13, km 19, km 30 and km 37 Aid stations offer water, tea, cola, AA sport drink, bananas, oranges, breakfast cake and Bastogne cookie; drinks are served in 100% recyclable PET cups. Transport of supplies is sponsored by Transportbedrijf Eelman.
Facilities on site include heated shower building at the De Krim campsite, free sports massage by a local masseur, EHBO, AED and a doctor. De Krim offers a special accommodation discount for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
