About the race
The Tempo Summer 5K Series is a set of three midweek 5-kilometre road races held one each month from May to July on Thursday evenings. Each race is staged from a different location in Warwickshire and nearby areas, with a mix of road and trail terrain across the series.
Routes and locations are:
- 5K
- 5K
- 5K
Race highlights: The Tysoe round is the flattest route and follows an out-and-back road between Tysoe and Oxhill. The Pebworth route is a circular road course with a full road closure. The Alscot Estate race is based on private estate ground near Stratford-upon-Avon and combines road and trail sections; the start location for 2027 is near the Main House. Subject to permissions, the first two races will have full road closures.
Entry details: Individual race entries are priced at £24 for UKA-affiliated runners and £26 for non-affiliated runners; a reduced rate is offered for entry to all three races together. Each race may be limited to 250 entrants and day entries will be available unless a race is full. Race numbers are reused across the series; numbers must be kept and presented for each race.
Prizes and mementos: Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers on gun time. Runners who complete all three races receive a Tempo Events Summer Series T-shirt. The best placed male and female across all three races receive the Summer Series Trophy. If injured, a runner may still qualify for the series T-shirt by marshalling at a race if event organisers are notified; a substitute runner cannot claim another entrant’s series memento.
Logistics and rules: No water stations are provided on course; runners should plan to carry their own water. Gazebos will be available for baggage but are unmanned; keys may be looked after. Toilets are available at each location. Only bone conduction sports headphones are allowed on these open-road races; in-ear headphones are not permitted and noncompliance may result in omission from results.
Refunds and transfers: Full refunds less a £2 administration fee are available up to six weeks before the relevant race or series start date. After that date no refunds are offered, but entries may be transferred to another runner prior to the race. If a race is cancelled and cannot be rescheduled, entrants will be offered a percentage refund or the option to donate that refund to the race charity; the percentage depends on costs incurred. Contact for entry changes and enquiries is by email. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
