Event Details
The Tempe Elementary Schools Love Your Heart 5K is a community walk and run event celebrating school wellness initiatives. It is sponsored by the Tempe Elementary Education Association (TEEA) and involves various school departments. The event will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
The event offers several participation options:
- A timed 5K run/walk
- A non-timed 1 Mile School Spirit Fun Run
- A virtual run option
Registration is available for adults, students (ages 18 and under), and seniors (ages 60 and older). Early registration discounts apply, and there is a team/family discount for groups of four or more. Race day registration is also available at a higher cost.
Location and Logistics
The event takes place at Kiwanis Park, located at 101 West Baseline Road in Tempe, Arizona. Packet pickup is available the day before the event at the Sanchez District Office on S Rural Road and on race day at Kiwanis Park starting at 7:00 AM.
The organizers note that there will be ongoing construction at Kiwanis Park on race day. The splash pad and a bathroom pavilion will be closed, but portable restrooms will be provided. The course itself will not be affected by the construction.
What Participants Receive
All participants receive a custom finisher's medal and a custom dri-fit tech t-shirt. Age group awards are presented for the top three finishers in each age group for the 5K distance. A pre- and post-race "Runner's Brunch" with snacks and drinks is provided. The 5K is chip-timed, with results and photos available online.
The event is managed by StartLine Racing. The course is accessible to wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons, and leashed pets are welcome. The event proceeds fund additional health and wellness services and programs for Tempe Elementary School District employees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
