Team Red Shamrock Trail Challenge - Coralville, IA
The Team Red Shamrock Trail Challenge is the 15th annual trail race benefiting the Red Shamrock Foundation, held on April 4, 2026 at Coralville Creekside Park. Distances offered include:
- 10 mile
- 5K
- 1500M Fun Run
The 10 mile course is planned as an out-and-back route. The 5K uses the same start/finish line with a turnaround near Deer Creek Road at about the two mile point. Surfaces include grass, dirt single track, and paved trail. The first mile includes the steepest climb on the grass Cross trail. The route may use either single track or the Clear Creek paved trail depending on conditions. Leashed dogs are welcome on course. An aid station with toilets and water is located near the Tom Harkin trailhead; additional water and snacks and flush toilets with running water are available at the start/finish.
Registration opens January 1, 2026 with a one-day special fee on that date; online registration closes March 28, 2026. Pediatric cancer survivors receive free entry with an organizer-issued coupon code. No refunds or bib transfers are allowed; registered entrants may request a deferral to the 2027 race by March 28, 2026. The race will be chip-timed by Nonstop Race Management.
Swag for the 5K and 10 mile includes a short-sleeve tee with an upgrade option to a long-sleeve technical hooded tee. Top male and female winners receive a pair of running shoes from Active Endeavors and age-group awards are presented across standard age brackets.
