Te Āpiti Traverse

Te Āpiti Traverse is a trail running event scheduled for 19 September 2026 in the Manawatū Gorge on New Zealand's North Island. The route follows terrain where the Manawatū River runs between the Ruahine and Tararua ranges and includes multiple lookouts that provide wide views of the gorge.

The event offers a mix of terrains through native bush where kererū and tūī are present. It crosses a notable tectonic divide and combines climbs with sections beside the river. There are 4 courses available with varying degrees of difficulty to accommodate different route choices.

The event is community focused and is organised by the Woodville Lions Club. All proceeds from the event are returned to the local community. A gallery and schedule are maintained for the event and photos of the courses will be updated before, during and after the inaugural event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
