Tarc Wapack and Back

Trail Animals Running Club's Wapack and Back takes place in Ashburnham, Massachusetts, along the Wapack Trail from Mount Watatic to North Pack Mountain in Greenfield, NH. Runners choose among 21.5-, 43-, and 50-mile ultramarathons. The course features rocky ledges, boulder fields, granite slabs, and single-track with roots, about 4,600 feet of elevation per direction (50-miler ~10,800 ft total).

Four aid stations provide water and Hyle Hydration; water stops are spaced up to 7.5 miles apart. The route is marked with yellow blazes; missteps require backtracking and GPS review. Start/finish check-ins at Mt Watatic; 21.5M uses Fitchburg Sportsmen's Club with shuttles.
