Tanner Kitelinger Memorial 5K Run/Walk
The Tanner Kitelinger Memorial 5K Run/Walk is an annual community event held in Beloit, Wisconsin. This event marks the eighth year of celebrating the life of Tanner Kitelinger through a combination of physical activity and community gatherings. The event is centered at Riverside Park, with the starting line and registration area located near the tennis courts and the shelter on Riverside Drive.
Participants can take part in a single primary event distance:
- 5K run/walk
The course utilizes the scenic areas around the park, positioned across from the Eclipse Center. Following the completion of the run and walk, activities transition to an after-party held at The Rock Bar and Grill. These post-run festivities include a variety of organized activities such as a 50-50 raffle, a meat raffle, a prize raffle, karaoke, and dedicated entertainment for children.
Proceeds generated from the memorial event are distributed among several local causes and organizations. Funds support the Tanner Kitelinger Rising Star Award, which provides financial assistance to graduating seniors from Beloit Memorial and Beloit Turner who are pursuing careers as first responders or front-line workers. Additionally, the event supports VetsRoll, an organization that provides veterans with no-cost trips to Washington, D.C., and the Beloit Junior Knights Hockey Association.
