About the race

The Ottawa 10K presented by Otto’s Ottawa is a flat, fast 10K road race held as part of Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend. The event attracts a high-level field of professional runners as well as thousands of participants from across the National Capital Region. It is the designated host of the 2027 Canadian 10K Championships, and a Canadian championship record set on the course in 2025 is noted as making this the fastest 10K course in Canada.

The course starts at Ottawa City Hall, follows the Rideau Canal UNESCO World Heritage Site, passes the tulips of Dow’s Lake, and returns along the canal to a finish in front of large spectator crowds.

Registration includes a finisher medal, a personalized race bib for entries submitted before May 1, on-course Xact Hydration, professional race timing, recovery food, and two weeks free access to the Runna personalized coaching app. Optional add-ons include a souvenir race shirt, a commemorative ribbon hanger, photography and videography packages, a magazine subscription, and the option to fundraise for a charity.

Event details listed by the organizer include the race date of May 29, 2027, the start location at Ottawa City Hall (110 Laurier Ave W), a total event capacity of 8,000, current pricing of $90.00 plus HST, an age minimum of 14, and a Green Bib option that diverts part of the fee to charity in lieu of a medal or mailed amenities. Handcycle athletes are welcome and can register via a direct registration link. Elite athlete applications open in December 2026. Adaptive athletes may have up to three guides on course, with guide entries arranged through organizer-provided links or codes.

Course features include three hydration stations on both sides of the road, kilometre markers along the route, portable toilets at every water station, cheering and entertainment stations, and full medical services on route and at the finish.
