Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend: Ottawa 5K
The Ottawa 5K is a 5 km road race held as part of the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend. The route passes Ottawa landmarks including the Parliament buildings, the Chateau Laurier and the Rideau Canal, and starts from Ottawa City Hall at 110 Laurier Ave W.
The event accepts participants aged 5 and up; strollers are not permitted. Total event capacity is 9,000. Registration includes a finisher medal, a personalized race bib with first name, professional race timing, recovery food, and two weeks free access to the Runna coaching app. A Green Bib option allows participants to forgo the medal and mailed amenities and direct part of their fee to the Green Bib fund supporting the Desjardins Charity Challenge.
Course features include three hydration stations on each side of the road, kilometre markers, portable toilets at every water station, cheering and entertainment stations, and full medical services on the route and at the finish. Optional add-ons are available such as a souvenir race shirt, a ribbon hanger, photography packages, digital magazine subscriptions, and fundraising opportunities for charities.
The adaptive athlete program permits up to three guides per athlete; promo codes or registration links for guide runners are sent periodically to adaptive athletes to enable complimentary timed entry for guides. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
