TAIL CHASER 5K RUN/WALK
The 10th annual TAIL CHASER 5K RUN/WALK is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026 in Monroeville, Alabama. The event is centered at Monroeville City Hall and the course begins at the Monroeville Water Tower, passing through historic downtown by the Courthouse Museum.
The course is described as flat and fast. One water station is available during the race, and water and snacks are provided after the event. T-shirts are guaranteed for participants registered by September 20, 2026. Packet pickup and late registration take place on race day at the Monroeville Water Tower.

Awards are presented for the 5K run to the top male and top female overall, top male and top female master, and the top two male and female finishers in each age group: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and over. Walk awards are given to the top male and top female walkers.
Post-race activities occur at the Monroe County Museum grounds as part of Saturday on the Square and include an awards ceremony, blessing of the pets, a raffle, shelter donations, and a pet costume contest. The event is sponsored by the Monroe County Humane Society and proceeds benefit the Monroe County Animal Shelter. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
