Event Overview
The Tacoma City Marathon is a multi-day running event held in Tacoma, Washington. The weekend features various race distances and formats, including the Ghost of Tacoma races on Saturday and the main marathon events on Sunday.

Participants can choose from several distance options across the two-day schedule:

Course Details
Sunday's Marathon and Half Marathon are point-to-point, USATF-Certified courses that serve as Boston Qualifiers. The route begins at Tacoma Narrows Airport and crosses the Narrows Bridge. Runners pass through Point Defiance Park, which contains over 700 acres of gardens and old-growth forests. The course continues over the Wilson Way Bridge and along the waterfront, offering views of the Puget Sound, Mount Rainier, and the Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges. The finish line is located at Dune Peninsula Park.
Saturday's events, known as the Ghost of Tacoma, take place at Dune Peninsula Park. The 5 km and 10 km courses are USATF-certified. The Ghost Marathon and Half Marathon use paved bike paths along the Puget Sound. These Saturday long-distance races are chip-timed but not currently certified for Boston or New York qualification.
Participant Information
Registration includes a finisher medal for all distances. Marathon and Half Marathon participants receive a technical shirt, while 5 km, 10 km, and Ghost runners receive a tri-blend shirt. Sunday's long-distance events offer a shuttle service from the finish area to the start line for a fee, with free return shuttles provided.
