Taco The Town 5K and 10K
The Taco The Town event is a running and walking race held in North Stockton, California. The race begins and ends at The Factory Institute of Training and follows a closed course. Participants can choose between two primary distances, with an option for children and a virtual alternative for those who prefer to complete the distance independently.
Distances available at this event include:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- Taquito 5K (3.1 miles) for participants age 12 and under
- Virtual 5K and 10K options
The course is timed using built-in timing chips for participants interested in tracking their performance. Registered adults receive a shirt and a finisher medal, with the 10K participants receiving a specific four-inch medal and the 5K participants receiving a three-inch medal. The youth Taquito 5K includes a bib but does not include a medal or shirt.
Post-race amenities for finishers include various food and beverage items. Each finisher receives tacos from five different on-site food trucks, including Tacos la Palmita. Additionally, local breweries provide beer samples and a souvenir beer tasting glass to participants.
A portion of the proceeds from the event is donated to Family Promise of San Joaquin. This contribution supports efforts to address homelessness within the Stockton community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
