About the race
The SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne takes place annually on the last Sunday in October. The course leads through the city of Lucerne and its surroundings, offering views of the mountain panorama and local landmarks. Participants pass through the historic old town and run along Lake Lucerne.
The event includes various distances:
- Marathon: A 42.195 km course which also serves as the Swiss Championships.
- Half Marathon: A 21.1 km scenic route through the city and nature.
- CityRun 10KM: A 10 km distance starting from Horw and finishing at the Swiss Museum of Transport.
- CharityRun 10KM: A 10 km run with a focus on social impact.
- Maratholino: A 195 m distance specifically for children, held in Lucerne, Horw, and Hergiswil.
The route is officially measured and features live music and spectator hotspots to support the runners. Additional services such as pacemakers, a runner expo, and a supporting program for fans are provided. Registration is open to individuals, teams, and companies.
