Num.2 Sweetwater Challenge - MUSH Sweetwater 2
The Num.2 Sweetwater Challenge is a two day mushing event held February 28 to March 1, 2026, at the Stearns Siding Parking Area on W. Wingelton Rd in Baldwin, Michigan 49304. Entries open February 2, 2026 and close Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 6pm ET. MUSH membership is required.
Event classes and distances include:
- 7-Dog Sled - 8.8 miles
- 5-Dog Sled - 5.7 miles
- 3-Dog Sled adult - 3.1 miles
- 3-Dog Sled junior - 3.1 miles
- 2-Dog Fun Run What Ya Brung - 2.4 miles
- Kiddies 100-Yard Dash (participants must know how to hit the brake)
Required equipment listed in the MUSH rules includes helmets, a sled bag, a snow hook, a snubline kept in the sled bag for emergency trail use only, and an anchor line for snubline starts distinct from the emergency snubline.
The Sweetwater Fun Run is a mixed two dog class open to sleds, skijor, and fat tire bikes. Sweetwater senior-dog teams may run three dogs on a sled only when all dogs are nine years or older. The fun run is timed both days with all teams running together and timed against each other; finishers receive times but are not eligible for prizes.
