Sweetcorn 5K Classic - Hoopeston, IL
The Sweetcorn 5K Classic is a memorial road race with roots as a 10K that began in 1978 and was shortened to a 5K in 1982. The course begins in downtown Hoopeston at Main and Market and runs through mostly shaded residential neighborhoods.
The event is presented as part of the larger Sweetcorn Festival day, which includes a parade, festival activities, and other entertainment. Local spectators line portions of the course, with some having observed the race for many years.

The 1 Mile awards include a Race Champion Title belt for first place, custom medallions for the next nine finishers, and non-enscribed medals for other participants.
