Sutton Park Challenge
The Sutton Park Challenge is an inclusive running and walking event organised by Midland Mencap in Sutton Park, Birmingham on Sunday 4th October 2026. Participants can choose from three distances and may run, jog, walk, or wheel the route.
The event offers the following distances:
- 1 km inclusive challenge
- 5 km route for participants of any age
- 10 km route with an age minimum of 15 years
The course is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs, though it is described as very hilly. Children under 11 must take part with a responsible adult. There is no overall time limit and well behaved dogs on leads are allowed.
Entries are manually timed and the entry package includes full route signage, marshalling, water stations, medical support, on-course photography, a finisher medal, and regular event updates. On the day registration and payment by card or cash are available but on day entries cost two pounds more. A route map and a course video are provided by the organiser. Parking is available at the Town Gate Car Park, a short walk from the race village. Accessible toilet facilities and a changing area are available at the Clifton Road Centre.
Volunteers are recruited as course marshals and receive a full briefing, practical experience of event work, and a voucher for a hot drink. Fundraising linked to the event supports unpaid carers through respite and support groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
