Sutton Park Challenge
The Sutton Park Challenge is an inclusive multi-distance event held in Sutton Park, Birmingham. Organized by Midland Mencap, the event invites participants to complete the course by running, jogging, walking, or wheeling. The route is situated on hilly terrain and is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
The event offers three distinct distances:
- 10 km (minimum age 15)
- 5 km (open to all ages)
- 1 km (open to all ages)
Participants receive a manual time for their race. The event includes full route signage, marshals, water stations, and medical support. A photographer is present on-site to document the activity, and all finishers receive a medal. For runners with a disability, a supporter or carer may participate alongside them at no additional cost if arranged in advance.
Registration takes place at the race village, located near Town Gate Car Park. The event area includes accessible toilet facilities and a changing area at the Clifton Road Centre. Participants may bring flags, tents, or gazebos to set up near the race village. There is no set time limit for completing the distances, and well-behaved dogs on leads are permitted to take part.
