Sutton Park Challenge
The Sutton Park Challenge, organised by Midland Mencap, takes place in Sutton Park, Birmingham on Sunday 4th October 2026. The event offers three inclusive distances to complete your way:
- 1 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
Participants may run, jog, walk, or wheel; the course is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs but is described as very hilly, so entrants are advised to consider which distance they choose. Children may enter the 1 km and 5 km at any age; the 10 km requires participants to be 15 or older, and children under 11 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Well behaved dogs on leads are permitted.
Entry includes chip timing, full route signage and marshalling, water stations, medical cover, event photography and a finisher medal. Registration is available on the day for an additional fee; belongings should be left with supporters or in a vehicle as there is no formal bag storage. Toilet facilities include an accessible toilet and a changing area at the Clifton Road Centre.
The event supports fundraising for people with learning disabilities and for unpaid carers, with fundraising intended to help provide respite and support groups. Volunteer marshal roles are advertised for the event, with briefings, an event overview and a volunteer refreshment voucher provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
