About the race
Surviving the Rip is the sixth annual fundraiser combining a 5K and a 10K run/walk on April 3, 2027 at The Water's Edge Park in Corpus Christi, Texas. The event supports water-safety education and community programs focused on reducing rip-current incidents.
The event notes that Nueces County has achieved zero rip-current fatalities and states that continued awareness and preparation remain important. Participant proceeds support efforts to educate beachgoers, empower families, and equip communities with water-safety knowledge and skills.

Registration fees are specified by date and age group. Before March 19 adults pay $30 and youth ages 5 to 17 pay $25; both early-price entries include a T-shirt. After March 19 the fee is $40, and the day-of-event fee is $45. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, April 2 (11:00 to 16:00) at a location to be determined, or the morning of the event at the venue (07:00 to 08:00).
