Sunapee Scramble - June 7, 2026
The Sunapee Scramble is an up and down mountain running event held at Mount Sunapee in Sunapee, New Hampshire, with venue address 1398 New Hampshire Rte 103. It will serve as the 2026 USATF National Classic Mountain Championship and as the sole selection race for the 2026 US Classic Up/Down Mountain Running Team.
The event carries a $30,000 prize purse presented by Brooks Running. Registration closes June 5, 2026, and there is no day of registration.
The race course is roughly 9.2 miles long with about 3,250 feet of vertical gain. The first lap follows a service road from the base to the summit, then returns via a faster descent to the Base Lodge. The second lap again uses the service road to climb and then joins the super technical Newbury Trail to the summit, followed by another speedy descent to the Base Lodge.
Weekend logistics include early bib pick up and a course preview on the Saturday before the race, and bib pick up along with awards and an after party at the Sunapee Base Lodge on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
