Sun Devil Triathlon Classic
Arizona State University presents the Sun Devil Triathlon Classic at Tempe Town Lake North Park on Sunday, November 8, 2026. The event is an age group, draft legal sprint triathlon with a course of a 750 meter swim, a 20 kilometer bike and a 5 kilometer run. The race allocates 28 World Championship slots; the top two finishers in each age group earn slots to represent Team USA at the Age Group World Championships in Hamburg, Germany.
The race is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and all participants must hold either an annual membership or purchase a one day membership during registration. Timing is electronic using triathlon chips; chips must be worn on the left ankle, worn from start to finish and returned at the finish line. Lost or unreturned chips will be charged to the athlete.
Racer amenities include an event t shirt, a finisher medal, post race refreshments and awards for the top three finishers in each category. Age group awards cover divisions from 10 to 14 through 80 and over.
There is no parking at the race site. Available parking is at least a half mile away. Recommended options include Rio Salado Ash Parking Garage at 201 S Ash Ave, Tempe Town Lake Marina Parking Lot at 550 E Tempe Town Lake, and the City Hall Parking Garage at 117 E 5th St. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
