Sun Devil Triathlon Classic
Arizona State University presents the Sun Devil Triathlon Classic on November 8, 2026, centered at Tempe Town Lake North Park. The event is an age-group, draft legal sprint triathlon that offers opportunities for Age Group Team USA qualification to the 2027 Age Group World Championships in Hamburg, Germany. Athletes must be at least 16 years old on 12/31/2027 to be eligible for selection. Age will be calculated as of 12/31/2027.
The race format is a sprint distance: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon, and every participant must be either an annual USAT member or purchase a one-day membership as part of registration. Aerobars are not allowed in this draft legal format.
Racer amenities include an event t-shirt, finisher medal, post-race refreshments, and awards for top three finishers per category. Packet pickup requires athletes to pick up their own packets and present identification. The race will be chip timed; chips must be worn on the left ankle from start to finish, returned at the finish line, and the provided neoprene strap should not be cut. Lost or unreturned chips will be charged to the athlete.
