Dion Summerstown Forest Snowshoe Race
The Dion Summerstown Forest Snowshoe Race is scheduled for Saturday, February 6, 2027, in Summerstown Forest near Cornwall, Ontario. The event is part of the Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series and uses the FOTST trails with the trailhead and parking at 6150 County Road 27, Township of South Glengarry, about 1.6 kilometres north of Exit 804 of Highway 401.
Distances:
- 8.5 km, Dion Series points; medals to top three and top master
- 4.4 km, Summerstown Forest Challenge; no Dion points, prizes to top overall male and female
The course is mostly single track with multiple passing areas, on packed rolling terrain with tree cover. Two portable toilets will be on site and participants are advised to bring warm clothes to change into after the race. Parking is free but limited at the race start, with additional roadside parking available.
A limited number of Dion snowshoes are available to rent on a first come, first serve basis during online registration for a fee of $10 per race. If there is no snow the event will proceed as a trail run without snowshoes; no refunds or transfers will be offered.
Entry fees are $35 for early registration until January 14 and $45 for regular registration until February 4. The race is capped at a maximum of 200 competitors. Race souvenirs are available to preregistered participants while supplies last. Proceeds will be donated to the Summerstown Forest school program.
