Summer Splash Prairie Dog Half, 10k, & 5k : Castle Rock, Colorado
The Summer Splash Prairie Dog event in Castle Rock, Colorado is part of the Prairie Dog Half race series and takes place on July 18, 2026. The course runs along the East Plum Creek Trail and the event base is at Castle View High School, 5254 N Meadows Dr, Castle Rock, CO 80109.
The event program includes these distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10k (10 kilometers)
- 5k (5 kilometers)
Each registrant receives a race day shirt, a finisher's pint glass, chip timing, free photo downloads, and free GPS tracking for friends and family. Half marathon finishers also receive a finisher's medal. A gender-specific performance shirt is offered for all distance participants and available sizes are listed during registration; some sizes may sell out before the event.
The race partners with local charities and community programs. Backpack Society is the listed charity partner; participants who bring five or more items to the in-kind donation gathering are entered into the race day raffle. The event also partners with Sneakers4Good to collect gently used or new athletic shoes, with proceeds benefiting a designated charity partner.
