Summer Causeway Run & Walk
The Summer Causeway Run & Walk takes place on September 12, 2026. The course crosses the Queen Isabella Causeway from the Port Isabel Event and Cultural Center to Beach Waterpark on South Padre Island, offering views across Laguna Madre Bay at sunrise.
Race options include:
- 10K run with chip timing
- 5K run or walk
For 2026 the 10K will use two start waves: a competitive wave intended for faster runners and an open wave for recreational participants and groups. All 5K participants begin together. Group discounts are available for parties of ten or more.
The finish area at Beach Waterpark includes vendors, food, music, and giveaways. Participants receive an official event shirt and participant items while supplies last. Early bird registration pricing is available through August 11, 2026; after that date prices increase and shirts are distributed on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
The event is organized by the Port Isabel Chamber of Commerce and is presented as a community fitness event that brings runners, walkers, families, and local groups together along a coastal route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
