Stumpy's 5k Run and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
The event takes place on July 4, 2026, in Shirland, Illinois. The course begins and ends at Shirland Grade School, 8020 North St, Shirland, IL 61079. All proceeds will be donated to Shirland Grade School.
Distances offered:
- 5K out-and-back through downtown Shirland and rolling countryside
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk route from the school through downtown Shirland and back
Registration opens May 4, 2026. The fee is $30. Registrants who register by June 19, 2026 are guaranteed a timing chip and a collector edition T-shirt. There will be no same day registration.
Registration includes a Stumpy T-shirt, a finisher medal, a race bib, and online results. The 5K is chip timed. There will be a water station at the Stumpy turnaround for 5K participants.
Packet pick-up is in front of Shirland Grade School on Friday, July 3, 2026 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Same day packet pick-up is available starting at 6:30 AM in front of the school.
Participants are asked to park before the starting line along Shirland Rd or Boswell Rd to reduce traffic on the race route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
