Strides for Life 5K
Strides for Life 5K is a community event in Kettering, Ohio that marks its 10th anniversary with an 1980s theme. The event's stated purpose is to strengthen support, education and recognition of organ, eye and tissue donation in west central Ohio and to honor those who gave the gift of life.
The program includes an in-person 5K run/walk and a virtual 5K run/walk, each covering 3.1 Miles, and a Kids' Fun Run. Registration fees listed by the organizer are $25.00 for each 5K option and $5.00 for the Kids' Fun Run. Registration open and close dates differ by event; registration windows are provided for the in-person, virtual and kids events.
Awards will be given to overall male and female finishers and to the top three males and females in each age category: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80 plus. Participant items for the 5K include a Port & Co. Crystal Tie-Dye T-shirt, a fanny pack and a finisher dog tag; there is also a giveaway for the Kids' Fun Run.
