The Medtronic Streets of Galway 8k, 8 August 2026
The Medtronic Streets of Galway 8K is an eight kilometre road race organised by Galway City Harriers. The 2026 edition marks the event's 40th year since its inception in 1986. A permit for the event has been approved, certificate number 26/123.
The route is described as fast and flat and runs around Galway City, Salthill and the Claddagh. The race start is at Fr Griffin Road and the finish is at South Park. Event headquarters are at the Claddagh Hall at Nimmos Pier.
The event typically brings thousands of participants into the city and suburbs. Entry is open through Eventmaster with an early bird fee of 25 euro plus AI levy or fee for the first 400 entries and a standard fee of 30 euro thereafter. A postal option is available for delivery of race numbers and T shirts. A race T shirt is provided for participants and race refreshments are supplied.
