The Medtronic Streets of Galway 8K: 8 August 2026
The Medtronic Streets of Galway 8K is an 8 kilometre road race organised by Galway City Harriers. The 2026 edition marks the event's 40th year and has an approved permit, cert. no: 26/123.
The course is described as fast and flat and routes around Galway City, Salthill and the Claddagh. Event headquarters are at Claddagh Hall at Nimmos Pier, the race starts on Fr Griffin Road and finishes at South Park. The organiser expects thousands of participants on the streets and suburbs of Galway.
Medtronic is listed as a sponsor for 2026. Entry is managed through Eventmaster with an early bird fee of 25 euro plus an AI levy or fee for the first 400 entries, after which the standard entry fee is 30 euro. A postal option is available to receive race numbers and T shirts by post.
The race is restricted to persons aged 16 or older on race day; no entry is permissible below that age. Buggies and other wheeled vehicles are not allowed. Participants are provided with a race T shirt and post-race refreshments. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
