Autoparts Stornoway Half Marathon & 10K
The event takes place in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis on Saturday 23 May 2026 and is organised by Stornoway Running & Athletics Club. Two race distances are offered:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
The course combines tarmac roads and pavements with gravel forest trails through the Lews Castle Grounds. The trails are described as runnable and suitable for road shoes. The Half Marathon starts and finishes in the town centre on the inner harbour beside the marina; both races finish next to the marina. The route is not ideal for wheelchairs. Water stations are provided approximately every 3 miles on the half and two times on the 10k.
Race registration takes place on the Friday evening before the race at the MA Hall (Stornoway Free Church hall) where race numbers are collected and ceilidh tickets are available. There are no entries on the night before the race or on race day; entries must be made online by the published deadline. The event is Scottish Athletics licensed and run under UK Athletics rules. Headphones are not permitted on roads that are not wholly closed to traffic. Minimum ages for competitors follow UKA rules: 15 for the 10k and 17 for the Half.
Post-race arrangements include a buffet and an evening ceilidh with ticket proceeds donated to a nominated local charity. Volunteers and marshals are requested to support race safety; marshal packs and event T-shirts are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
