The course combines tarmac roads and pavements with gravel forest trails through the Lews Castle Grounds; the trails are described as runnable in road shoes. Both races start and finish in Stornoway town centre at the Inner Harbour near the marina. The route is not ideal for wheelchairs.
Practical details from the organiser include Friday registration at the MA Hall where race numbers and ceilidh tickets are issued, a post-race buffet and prize giving in the MA Hall, and shower facilities at Lewis Sports Centre about 800 m from the finish. All finishers receive a medal and Half Marathon finishers receive a T-shirt. Water stations are positioned approximately every three miles on the Half Marathon and there are two water stations on the 10K. Volunteer marshals are requested to support course safety and receive an event T-shirt and marshal pack. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
