Stockhorn Halbmarathon
The Stockhorn Halbmarathon is a mountain running event held in the Simmental region. The race covers a distance of 21.1 km and features a significant elevation profile, with a total ascent of 1724 meters and a descent of 371 meters. The course starts at the Bahnhofplatz in Oberwil at an altitude of 837 meters above sea level and finishes at the Stockhorn summit in Erlenbach at 2190 meters above sea level.
Participants can choose from the following categories:
- 21.1 km individual half marathon
- 2-person relay (2er Staffel)
- Stockhorn-Rush
The registration fee includes several services such as race number delivery, a finisher prize, and catering stations along the route and at the finish line. Additionally, the fee covers transport services including the cable car descent from Stockhorn to Erlenbach, a train ride between Erlenbach and Oberwil, and the transport of personal belongings from the start to the finish area.
The event provides facilities at the secondary school building in Erlenbach, including showers, changing rooms, and a free massage service available both at the start and after the race. Cash prizes are awarded to the top six male and female finishers, and specific awards are given for the mountain prize and the "Goldsprint."
