The Stilbaai event is a community trail running fundraiser for the local NSRI station in Still Bay, Western Cape. It includes two distances: 10 km and 5 km, with routes on quiet residential streets beside the Goukou lagoon and beach, plus hiking trails. The 10 km route includes an approximately 3 km loop through the Melkhout forest in the Skulpiesbaai reserve.
Both distances start from the parking area at Stilbaai West Beach (corner of Waterkant, Steyn and Skuitpad) and finish at the NSRI building at the harbour entrance. Entry categories and late-entry fees listed by the organiser are: 10 km – R300 and 5 km – R200. Manual entries are available the day before the race at the NSRI building.
The Motor Industry Staff Association (MISA) sponsors the 10 km prize pool and related promotions. Prize money is offered for overall top finishers and age-category champions, and a R25,000 lucky draw for a 10 km runner is advertised; to qualify for the draw runners must wear the MISA cap supplied to a limited number of entrants. MISA also supplies branded caps and 10 km finisher medals for the first entries or finishers specified by the organiser. The event is presented as the 19th edition of the Stilbaai run series.
