Event overview
Steps for Students 5K is scheduled for Saturday, February 14, 2026, in downtown Houston at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1111 St Joseph Parkway. The event is an annual fundraiser supporting the 55 Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. The event day traditionally includes a Sunrise Mass, a sanctioned 5K race and a post-race gathering in the Catholic School Village. In 2025 more than 10,000 people registered and the event raised over $900,000 for the schools.

Several entry prices increase after January 31, 2026 at 11:59pm CST. The 5K Untimed registration closes on January 31, 2026 at 11:59pm CST and reopens on February 1, 2026 at 12:00am CST. The event offers fundraising and volunteer opportunities and includes a dedicated Catholic School Village area for post-race activities.
