Steps for Students 5K
Steps for Students is an annual fundraiser for the 55 Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. The event takes place on February 14, 2026, in downtown Houston at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1111 St Joseph Parkway. It brings the Catholic community together for a Sunrise Mass, a sanctioned 5K race, and a post race gathering in the Catholic School Village.
In 2025 more than 10,000 people registered and the event raised over $900,000 to support the needs of the schools. Multiple event formats are offered so participants can choose the option that fits their plans:
- 5K Timed
- 5K Untimed
- Family 1K Fun Run
- Hit the Snooze for Students (run on your own time)
The event also includes fundraising and volunteer roles, and it features a Catholic School Village with post event activities.
