Step Up Half Marathon, Relay & 5k - Storm Lake
The event includes multiple race options held in Storm Lake, Iowa, near Kings Pointe Resort and Awaysis Park. Distances offered include:
- 13.1 Miles half marathon and relay options
- 5K loop course
- Youth 5K and Youth Half Marathon entries
The half marathon uses a USATF certified course that follows the lake shoreline and is primarily flat with little elevation change. The 5K is a loop that finishes just beyond Kings Pointe beach and playground. The half marathon finish and overall race area are at Awaysis Park; parking is available at the resort or the park.
Relay teams may register as two-person or four-person teams. Teams coordinate their own handoff points along the course; Lake Pointe Villa is noted as an approximate halfway mark. Runners may split the relay distance as they prefer, provided each team member is registered.
Aid and post-race provisions are provided. The half marathon has six water stations and the 5K has one station; stations are evenly spaced and supply water and Gatorade. All registered runners receive a finisher medal and an event t-shirt, though a t-shirt is not guaranteed for registrations received after August 22, 2026. Packet pick up is available at Kings Pointe Resort on the day before the races and on the morning of the event. Snacks, music, and refreshments will be available at the finish area.
