St. Louis Catholic School 11th Anniversary Cougar Chase 5K Run/Walk
St. Louis Catholic School in Austin hosts an anniversary running event on the school campus and track. The main footrace is a 5 km course laid out as three loops around campus. A separate untimed kids run takes place on the school track and is intended for children aged eight and under.
Distances
- 5 km course on campus, three loops
- 400 m kids run on the school track, untimed
Registration and fees are stated for the event: the 5K carries a fee of $15. A one-mile option for young children is listed at $10 and the kids 400 m run is free for ages eight and under. The event uses professional timing for the 5K and offers prizes for top finishers; awards also include overall male and female prizes and age or school grade based prizes.
Packet pickup is arranged the day before for school families and there is morning-of pickup on race day; race shirts are handled through a separate ordering process. Funds raised in prior years supported installation of a shot put and discus pad with cage and the purchase of a high jump landing pad. The event is paired with a campus Breakfast with Santa to coincide with race activities and school community efforts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
