Course
The marathon takes place on a USATF certified course. Runners complete just under nine laps around Rockland Lake on a paved pathway. The loop is approximately 2.95 miles long, described as flat. The entire loop was repaved in 2020.
Event Details
The event is held at Rockland Lake State Park in Congers, New York. The race staging area is near the south end of Parking Field 5. Medical personnel are present for the duration for emergencies.
Aid stations are placed every mile, including a main station. Three restrooms with running water are available along the course and are lit at night.
Registration fees are tiered and include all processing fees. Early registration through March 31 is $71.80, increasing to $82.10 through April 30, and $92.40 through June 10 at noon. There is no race-day registration and entries cannot be transferred to another person.
Packet pickup is on Saturday from 11:00 PM to 11:45 PM at Race-Day Central.
Logistics
The total time limit for the marathon is 8 hours.
For nighttime safety, headlamps are strongly recommended as the course has no lights and only minimal lighting at Race-Day Central. A cyclist will circle the course until sunrise, and a park police vehicle will be present overnight.
Lap counting is done manually by race staff, who require bibs to be visible on the front of the torso.
Participant Perks
All finishers receive a custom medal. Custom race shirts are guaranteed for participants registered by May 23. Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall.
Restrictions
All participants must be 18 years or older on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
