Sri Chinmoy Midnight Marathon : Rockland Lake State Park
The Sri Chinmoy Midnight Marathon is a 26.2 mile road race held at Rockland Lake State Park in Congers, NY. The marathon uses a USATF-certified, repaved 2.95-mile paved loop around Rockland Lake; completing just under nine laps equals the marathon distance. The loop is described as pancake flat and was repaved in 2020, with a smooth surface and no significant bumps, cracks, or potholes.
Aid stations are provided approximately every mile, including one main well-stocked station. Custom race shirts and custom medals are provided for finishers. Medical personnel are on site for emergencies only. Lap counting is done manually by race staff; runners must keep their race bib visible on the front of their torso each time they pass the counting station.
Nighttime safety measures include minimal course lighting, lit restrooms along the route, and a support cyclist who circles the course continuously until sunrise. A park police vehicle will be present in the park overnight for this event. The race has an 8-hour time limit and an age restriction requiring participants to be 18 or older on race day.
Registration opens December 7, 2025. Early registration through March 31 has a fee of $71.80; later registration tiers have higher fees. Entries cannot be transferred and there is no race-day registration. The event is staged concurrently with the Sri Chinmoy 12 & 24-Hour Races and the Sunset Half-Marathon.
