The Sri Chinmoy Marathon
The Sri Chinmoy Marathon takes place at Rockland Lake State Park in Congers, New York, approximately 45 minutes north of New York City. This annual event, now in its twenty-fourth year, is held in cooperation with the New York State Parks System. The race is a USATF sanctioned event and follows a certified course that serves as a Boston qualifier.
The race is held on a 2.95-mile loop around Rockland Lake. The course is described as flat and smooth, having been repaved in 2020. To complete the full marathon distance, participants run one partial start lap of 2.64 miles followed by eight full loops. A strictly enforced 7-hour time limit is in place for all competitors. Participation is limited to runners aged 18 and older.

The course features three aid stations per loop, spaced approximately one mile apart. These stations provide water and electrolyte drinks, while a main aid station offers various snacks and fruit. Participants receive a race shirt (guaranteed with early registration), a custom finisher medal, and a post-race vegetarian meal.
Logistical support includes a bag check, free parking for those who arrive early, and a shuttle bus service from Manhattan available for an additional fee. There is no race-day registration, and entries are non-transferable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
