The Sri Chinmoy Marathon
The Sri Chinmoy Marathon is the twenty-fourth annual marathon held at Rockland Lake State Park in Congers, New York on August 24, 2026. The event is organized by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team in cooperation with the New York State Parks System. It attracts an international field of runners from over 30 countries and supports the Self-Transcendence 3,100 mile race.
The course is a USATF sanctioned and certified loop (sanction #158805, certified course #NY25014DNB). The loop measures 2.95 miles, was repaved in 2020, and is described as flat and smooth. The marathon consists of nine laps total: one partial 2.64-mile start lap plus eight full 2.95-mile laps. There are three aid stations on the loop, roughly one per mile, with water and electrolyte drink at each and a well-stocked main aid station.
Event services include custom race shirts, custom finisher medals for all finishers, bag check, and a post-race vegetarian meal with some vegan options. The race is a Boston qualifier and enforces a 7-hour cutoff. Registration is required in advance; there is no race-day registration and entries are not transferable.
