Sri Chinmoy Marathon - Rockland Lake, Valley Cottage
The Sri Chinmoy Marathon is scheduled for 24 August 2026 at Rockland Lake State Park in Congers, New York. The event is organized by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team in cooperation with the New York State Parks System. Proceeds support the Self-Transcendence 3,100 mile race.
The event distance is a marathon held on a USATF sanctioned and certified course. The course uses a repaved 2.95 mile loop around the lake that is described as flat and smooth. Marathon runners complete one partial 2.64 mile start lap plus eight full 2.95 mile laps for a total of nine laps. All laps are counted for every runner.
On-course support includes three aid stations on the loop, approximately one per mile, supplying water and Skratch Hydration electrolyte drink. The main aid station by Race-Day Central offers fruit, chips and other snacks. Participants receive custom race shirts and custom finisher medals. A post-race vegetarian meal with some vegan options is provided.
Logistics notes: packet shipping to US addresses is available, and on-site packet pickup is provided. There is no race-day registration and entries are non-transferable. Free parking is located in Parking Field 4 at the south end of the lake; allow about a ten minute walk from that lot to Race-Day Central. Runners must be 18 or older and the event enforces a seven hour cutoff. A shuttle service from Manhattan is offered for an additional fee and requires advance purchase of seats.
