Sprint Series Adventure Race - Batemans Bay
The Sprint Series Adventure Race takes place along the Batemans Bay coast on Australia's Oyster Coast in New South Wales. Based at South Durras, the event utilizes the surrounding beaches, bushland trails, and waterways. This multisport competition is a team-based event where pairs work together to navigate a course using mountain bikes, kayaks, and on-foot travel to locate checkpoints.
Participants can choose between two primary course options:
- Classic: approximately 5-7 km run, 15 km mountain bike, and 5 km kayak.
- Novice: approximately 3 km run, 8-10 km mountain bike, and 2 km kayak.
The specific course remains secret until the morning of the event, at which time teams receive their maps for navigation. The event has a total duration of four hours. Entry includes the provision of kayaking equipment, though participants are responsible for their own mountain biking gear. Bike hire is available for those who require it.
Registration is open to various fitness levels. Children aged eight and older are permitted to participate when accompanied by an adult.
