Springsure Mountain Challenge
The Springsure Mountain Challenge is an annual community fundraiser trail running event held in Springsure, Queensland. The event takes place on the second Sunday of May each year, coinciding with Mother's Day. The activities are based at the Springsure Golf Club, located on King Street. Participants have a maximum time limit of six hours to complete their chosen course.
Participants can select from several distance options:
- 32 km
- 17 km
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 1.6 km
The 32 km, 17 km, and 10 km courses lead runners through the Minerva Hills National Park. These routes include sections of single trail countryside and reach various lookout points that provide views of the surrounding landscape. The event is open to participants of all ages, and individuals may choose to walk, jog, or run the courses at their own pace.
The event functions as a fundraiser to support organizations that provide services to rural areas and to fund local projects related to community health and well-being. Registered members of the Australian Ultra Runners' Association (AUTRA) are eligible for a ten percent discount on entry fees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
