Spooky Sprint YMCA 5K - Tempe, AZ
Spooky Sprint YMCA is the eighth annual community 5K held on October 31, 2026 at the Tempe Family YMCA, 7070 S Rural Rd, Tempe, AZ 85283. The event uses chip timing provided by Mangled Momentum and offers post race refreshments including bagels and fruit.
Packet pickup is available early at the Tempe Family YMCA Welcome Center on Thursday, October 29 and Friday, October 30, and on race morning. Race day packet pickup is scheduled for October 31. Parking is available in the YMCA parking lot at the event address. Race shirts are distributed while supplies last; registrants who sign up by October 2 are eligible for an event shirt.
Registration fees are listed as $25 for adults, $10 for children under 18, $40 for a family of four, and $150 for a group of ten. Day of race registration is open until 8:00 am and will close shortly before the race start. The event lists SRP Kyrene Generating Station as the Phantom Sponsor. All proceeds support sending children to camp and donations are accepted on race day.
The course runs along the canal bike path north of the YMCA and is described as two down and back segments on a flat route. The bike path will remain open to other users, participants are asked to stay on the right side. One water station is located near the bridge at Ken Macdonalds Club House and will be reachable multiple times along the course. Awards include top overall male and female, age group awards for top three in each category, and prizes for best costume and best group costume.
