Splash Dash 5k at Wild Rivers, Irvine
The event on August 23, 2026 takes place at Wild Rivers Waterpark in Irvine, California. It includes two 5k options and a children's race. The Splash Dash 5k finishes by running through a section of the park's lazy river that is about 2.5 feet deep for the final 600 yards. The Dry Run 5k avoids the water section and may use a side loop to complete a 3.1-mile course.
The children's Ducky Dash starts and finishes on the bridge and goes through the kiddie-pool wading area. Distances for kids include 200 yards, 400 meters, and 1/2 mile. All child participants receive a towel and a finisher medal.
Every participant receives a custom finisher medal plus a choice of a beach towel or event shirt. Chip timing is provided by Itz About Time. Age-division awards are given; Splash Dash uses 5-year age spans and Dry Run uses 10-year spans. Top three overall trophies are awarded for both 5k events, plus awards for oldest and youngest finishers.
The event functions as a food drive: participants must bring at least two canned goods or a $5 donation for South County Outreach. On-site restrooms are available. Parking at Wild Rivers carries a fee and limited additional parking is available in Great Park. Dogs are not allowed on the course or in the waterpark.
