Spirits Run on the Rocks a Waukegan 5K is a community 5K road event on May 16, 2026, held in Waukegan, Illinois. The course starts and finishes at Green Town on the Rocks, providing a lakefront backdrop and access to the waterfront area near 175 N. Harbor Pl.
The route follows the harbor and Sheridan Road and passes Oakwood Cemetery, a local historic burial ground for early Illinois leaders, judges, mayors, and community figures. The event supports a mission to highlight and preserve historic cemeteries across Illinois.
Post-race activities return to Green Town on the Rocks, where there will be drinks, music, and an after-party along the lakefront. Food is included for all registered participants. A food truck will be on site with additional items available for purchase, and spectators are welcome to attend the post-run area.
Registered participants receive a collectible race bib, a custom county themed sticker, post-run drink specials served in a collectible cup, and access to the lakefront after-party.
