Spirited Women All Women's Adventure Race : Tekapo 2027
The fourteenth edition runs from Friday 12 March to Sunday 14 March 2027 in Lake Tekapo, Mackenzie District. The event is a team-based adventure race for teams of four women who remain together throughout the event. Teams choose one of three course categories: Short, Medium, or Long, each with expected winning times and mixed-discipline stages that include kayaking, mountain biking, on- and off-trail trekking, navigation and mystery activities.
Course approximations:
- Short Course: up to 2 km paddling, 10–20 km mountain biking, 5–10 km trekking.
- Medium Course: up to 3 km paddling, 15–25 km mountain biking, 10–15 km trekking.
- Long Course: up to 4 km paddling, 20–30 km mountain biking, 15–20 km trekking.
Entries are team-based with limited places (408 teams maximum) and three age divisions based on combined team age: Open, Veteran, and Masters. Entry fees include team kit items and race provisions such as kayaks, paddles, life vests, waterproof maps, timing transponders, event photography, and a team gift box. Compulsory personal gear covers waterproof jacket, thermal layers, head torch, swim goggles, adequate food and water, mountain bike, helmet, lights, and basic first aid items per team. Use of GPS devices for navigation is prohibited and teams must stay together and follow event rules and marshals.
