About the race
Speedgoat Mountain Races by UTMB take place at Snowbird in the Wasatch Mountains, inside Little Cottonwood Canyon. The event is scheduled for 22 to 24 July 2027 and is hosted entirely at the Snowbird resort, where lodging, dining, parking, spectating, and post‑race recovery are located close to the start and finish.
The event offers several race options with measured distances and reported elevation gains:
- 50 KM : Elevation gain 3450 M+; Race category ws50KM; Running Stones 2.
- 31 KM : Elevation gain 2000 M+; Race category ws50KM; Running Stones 2.
- 10 KM : Elevation gain 500 M+.
- 5.6 KM (The Summit) : Elevation gain 921 M+.
The course is set in a high‑alpine landscape with ridgelines, wildflowers, and wide 360° views of the Wasatch. Organizers describe technical terrain with substantial vertical gain and note the event uses marked courses and volunteer support. The Start Line Project is listed as an initiative to reduce barriers for women entering the race. Through UTMB Community Bibs, a portion of registration fees supports local charities and trail stewardship; the program is part of the IRONMAN Foundation and directs funds to local organizations.
