About the race
The Southland Summer Challenge is a multisport event held on Sunday 13 December 2026 at Croydon Lodge, Gore. The programme includes seven race formats covering triathlon, duathlon, kayaking and open water swim distances.
Events include:
- 76.5 Challenge 1500m swim, 60km bike, 15km run
- Sprint Triathlon 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
- Junior Triathlon 400m swim, 9km bike, 2km run
- Novice Junior Triathlon 200m swim, 9km bike, 2km run
- Duathlon 200m run, 20km bike, 5km run
- Nautique Paddle Sports Coast to Coast Buildup 14km kayak, 1km run, 40km bike, 10km run
- Open Water Swim 1500m swim
- Aqua Bike 1500m swim, 60km bike
Online entries close Friday 11 December at 5pm. A late fee of $30 applies for on the day entries and for entries received online after the close date. Registrations are at Heartland Hotel Croydon, Gore. Bikes will be racked at Lake Gore 800 m along the road from Croydon Lodge. A grade 2 certificate is required for the Coast to Coast buildup kayak event. Race briefings are held at each start line ten minutes before that race. Prizegiving and finish procedures take place after the last competitor finishes. Course maps are provided by the organiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
