Southland Summer Challenge
The Southland Summer Challenge is a multisport meeting organised by the Southland Triathlon and Multisport Club on Sunday 13 December 2026 at Croyden Lodge, Gore. The programme comprises seven separate events covering triathlon, duathlon, paddle sport multisport, open water swim and an aqua-bike combination.
Events and distances:
- 76.5 Challenge: 1500m swim, 60km bike, 15km run
- Sprint Triathlon Southland Champs: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
- Junior Triathlon Southland Champs (Under 16): 400m swim, 9km bike, 2km run
- Novice Junior Triathlon (Under 16): 200m swim, 9km bike, 2km run
- Duathlon: 200m run, 20km bike, 5km run
- Nautique Paddle Sports Coast to Coast Buildup Southland Champs: 14km kayak, 1km run, 40km bike, 10km run
- Open Water Swim: 1500m swim
- Aqua Bike: 1500m swim, 60km bike
Online entries close Friday 11 December at 5pm. A late fee of $30 applies to on the day entries and to online entries submitted after the entry deadline. Registrations are based at the Heartland Hotel Croydon, Gore on the Main Queenstown Highway SH94. Bikes are racked at Lake Gore about 800m from Croyden Lodge. A grade 2 certificate is required for the Coast to Coast buildup and kayak event; participants should contact the organisers for details. Prizegiving includes spot prizes and Southland Championship trophies; championship trophies require club membership for at least 48 hours before the event. Course maps are provided for competitors.
