Southland Summer Challenge
The Southland Summer Challenge is a multi-event race day organised by the Southland Triathlon and Multisport Club on Sunday 13 December 2026 at Croydon Lodge, Gore. The programme includes triathlon, multisport, kayak, duathlon and open water swim formats across a range of distances.
Events include:
- 76.5 Challenge: 1500m swim, 60km bike, 15km run
- Sprint Triathlon - Southland Champs: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
- Junior Triathlon (Under 16) - Southland Champs: 400m swim, 9km bike, 2km run
- Novice Junior Triathlon (Under 16) - Southland Champs: 200m swim, 9km bike, 2km run
- Duathlon: 200m run, 20km bike, 5km run
- Nautique Paddle Sports Coast to Coast Buildup - Southland Champs: 14km kayak, 1km run, 40km bike, 10km run
- Open Water Swim: 1500m swim
- Aqua - Bike: 1500m swim, 60km bike
Entry fees vary by event, for example from $40 for junior events and the open water swim up to $80 for the 76.5 Challenge. A $30 late fee applies to on-the-day entries and to online entries received after published deadlines. Adult club members receive a $10 discount and junior members $5. Bikes will be racked at Lake Gore, about 800m from Croydon Lodge. Registrations are handled at Heartland Hotel Croydon, Gore. Race briefings are held at the respective start lines. A grade 2 certificate is required for the Coast to Coast buildup kayak event. Course and kayak start maps are provided. Prizegiving and championship trophies are awarded after the event.
