Southern Rail Trail
The Southern Rail Trail Run is a multi-distance running event on the Great Southern Rail Trail in South Gippsland, Victoria. The next event date is 13th November 2027. The course is described as predominantly flat and follows a former railway corridor that passes restored trestle bridges, old railway stations, and heritage markers.
The trail route and town checkpoints mentioned include Toora, Foster and Meeniyan, and the broader trail connects towns along the Great Southern Rail Trail. The region is on the southern fringe of mainland Australia, about ninety minutes from Melbourne, and is near Wilsons Promontory National Park.
Team and finish arrangements:
- The 100 km offers individual entries and teams of 2 and 4, finishing in Leongatha with a Presentation Breakfast for 100 km finishers.
- The 72 km offers individual entries and teams of 3, finishing in Leongatha with a Presentation Breakfast for 72 km finishers.
