Southern Rail Trail
The Southern Rail Trail is a multi distance running event that follows the Great Southern Rail Trail through South Gippsland in Victoria. The course is predominantly flat and passes through farmland, forest and small towns, with restored trestle bridges and views toward Wilsons Promontory noted along the route.
The organiser, Elite Energy, is a small family owned business. Due to increased operational costs driven by fuel levies and supply chain pressures, the event has been postponed to 29 May 2027. Entrants will receive entry details and next steps by email. The organiser plans to operate pin free by 2026 and offers reusable BibSnaps for purchase as an alternative to safety pins.
A presentation breakfast is provided for finishers of the longer distances at Leongatha.
Distances and routes:
- 100km Port Welshpool to Leongatha via Alberton
