South Nyack 10-Miler
The South Nyack 10-Miler is an athletic competition located in Nyack, New York. The course begins at Franklin Street Park and follows a route along the Hudson River to Piermont before returning to the start. The path utilizes public roads, paths, and the Esposito Trail. Participants may choose between the following distances:
- 10 Miles (In-person)
- 10 Miles (Virtual)
- 0.25 Miles (Kids Fun Run)
The 10 Miles course features water stations and assistance from course marshals and police escorts for a limited time. Because the course concludes operations two and a half hours after the start, the event is not recommended for walkers. The virtual option allows participants to complete the distance on any route and at any time during a two-week window surrounding the main event.
The kids' event consists of two heats for different age groups, covering distances of approximately 200 and 400 meters. This race takes place on the Esposito Trail and finishes under an arch. All finishers in the kids' category receive a medal.
Top overall runners in male, female, and non-binary categories receive awards, as do participants in 5-year age group brackets. Proceeds from the event are distributed to local first responders, food programs in the Nyack area, and a scholarship fund. An after-party at the park provides refreshments such as bagels, bananas, ice cream, and craft beer. The event also coincides with a local street fair located several blocks from the finish line.
