South Mountain Half Marathon
The South Mountain Half Marathon is a 13.1 mile event in Lehi, Utah that follows the southern section of the Jordan River Parkway and finishes at the foothills of South Mountain. The course is 100% paved trail with a total elevation gain of 624 ft and is run as an out and back with climbs and rollers toward the turnaround.
The route passes parks and Thanksgiving Point and includes multiple aid stations stocked with water, Gatorade, Honey Stinger gels and waffles, fruit, and small snacks. The course is marked with pink flags, ribbons, signs, and trail marshals to assist with navigation. There is no cutoff time for the event.
Runners receive a race shirt and a locally made finisher medal. Free race photos will be taken on course and at the finish line and provided without a logo or watermark. Post race breakfast is provided by Great Harvest Bread and includes cinnamon rolls, seasonal breads, pumpkin chocolate chip bread, chocolate milk, orange juice, and bananas.
Packet pickup is available the day before at Salt Lake Running Company and on race morning at the start area. Parking at the start is free but limited; carpooling or drop off is recommended. The event limits the field to 250 runners and offers overall and age division awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
