South Bay 24 at Montgomery Waller Community Park
South Bay 24 is an endurance running event held at Montgomery Waller Community Park in San Diego, taking place on July 24, 2026. The event uses a 1.22 mile loop around the park that combines trail, grass and bike path surfaces. The course gains about 46 feet per loop and is run counter clockwise. Completing 82 loops equals 100 miles.
Event formats include a full 24 hour option, 12 hour night and day formats, a 6 hour day option, and a HEFFTY Half Marathon. A $1500 purse prize may be awarded to the first runner to reach 125 miles on the course.
Oncourse aid is provided for the duration of the event and includes water, electrolyte, and a variety of snacks such as bagels, donuts, peanut butter sandwiches, potatoes, pretzels, trail mix, cookies, popsicles, sodas, lemonade and iced tea. Hot water is available in Runner HQ while supplies last. Runner HQ is adjacent to the course and offers a dedicated grass area for tents or vehicle campsites.
Registration can include a pancake breakfast for runners, an event shirt, a race medal, and a belt buckle for those who reach 100 miles. Pacers are allowed with rules: a racer may have many pacers but only one may be on course at a time and pacers must wear an identifying bib and complete check in procedures.
