Solstice Saunter 2026
The Solstice Saunter is a trail running event held on the longest day of the year within the Bolton Abbey Estate near Skipton. Organized by the Airedale Dodgers, the event serves as a fundraiser for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice. The race follows a single-lap, multi-terrain route covering a distance of 5 miles.
The course profile is categorized as hilly and is not suitable for wheelchairs. Participants are chip timed, though the event allows for running or jogging. The entry limit for the physical event is set at 1,000 participants. For those unable to attend the location in person, a virtual entry option is available, where individuals complete a 5 mile route of their own choice.
Facilities at the Bolton Abbey Estate include:
- 5 miles: Multi-terrain, hilly single-lap course.
The race headquarters is located in the field across the river from the Cavendish Pavilions. On-site facilities include toilets, water stations, and distance markers; however, there are no changing facilities, showers, or baggage storage areas available. Parking is included in the registration fee for those attending the estate. Participants may use their parking pass to arrive from the early afternoon onwards to access the grounds before the run begins.
The event operates without single-use plastic bottles. Every participant who selects an applicable entry ticket receives a bespoke medal. Entry on the day is not permitted, and all registrations must be completed in advance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
