Event overview

The Solstice Saunter is a 5 mile trail run held on the Bolton Abbey Estate near Skipton on 21 June 2026. The course is multi-terrain and hilly, completed as a single lap. Every participant is chip timed. The event has an entry limit of 1,000 places and is not suitable for wheelchairs. Race headquarters are on a field across the river from the Cavendish Pavilions.

Entry is available as an in-person run within the Bolton Abbey Estate or as a virtual entry where participants run a 5 mile route of their own choice on the longest day. Medals are provided to participants who choose the applicable ticket; virtual entrants receive their medal by post in advance. Prices listed include fees and administration: adult in-estate entry with medal £26.00, under-18 in-estate entry with medal £18.00, virtual entry with medal posted £26.00. Entry on the day is not available.

Facilities on course include water stations, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage store. Parking is included in the entry price; in-estate entrants are sent a car parking pass and may arrive from mid-afternoon to use the estate before the event.
