The SoCalUltraTrail at Tejon Ranch is a trail running event in Lebec, California, held entirely on Tejon Ranch property. Courses run on fire roads through canyons, along creeks, over mountains and across sagebrush plains. The terrain passes through multiple eco biomes including oak canyons, seasonal poppy and wildflower areas, and distant Joshua Trees.
Available distances include:
- 100k Ultra Trail: 61.6 miles, 12,002 feet gain, 18 hour limit.
- 50k Ultra Trail: 32.3 miles, 5,651 feet gain, 15.5 hour limit.
- 25k Trail: 15.86 miles, 2,858 feet gain.
- 11k Trail: 6.96 miles, 944 feet gain.
Course details note that the 100k can reach 6,150 feet in elevation and that both ultra distances climb about 3,200 feet in 4.8 miles on the Grapevine switchbacks. Race day temperatures may range from the low 40s to around 80 degrees. The event can experience occasional snowfall at higher points near Grapevine Peak.
Event services include fully marked courses for day and night running, chip timing and live tracking, ultra-stocked aid stations, professional medical support, and same-day results. The finish line festival offers hot meals with plant based options, a beer garden for 21 plus, and finisher awards such as belt buckles and medals. Volunteers earn race credits. Registration closes April 23, 2027, and the event may be postponed for hazardous conditions with a possible reschedule date of August 1, 2027.
