Snowbasin by UTMB takes place at the Snowbasin Resort in the Northern Wasatch mountain range, near Ogden, Utah. The event features an alpine setting characterized by ridgelines, forested slopes, and views of the Great Salt Lake. The courses consist of flowing trails through diverse ecosystems, including sagebrush, aspen groves, and evergreen forests.
The event offers two primary race distances:
- 59 km: This course features approximately 1800 meters of elevation gain and is classified in the 50K race category. Runners finishing this distance earn two Running Stones.
- 29 km: This course includes approximately 800 meters of elevation gain and falls under the 20K race category. Completion provides one Running Stone.
The race utilizes the resort's lift-accessible terrain, which allows for multiple spectator viewing points throughout the mountain. The event hub is centered around Snowbasin's mountain culture and the nearby city of Ogden, which provides access to local dining and live music.
