Event
The Snake River Canyon Half Marathon is a road race held at Wawawai Landing, WA, on March 7, 2026. The event is directed by the Palouse Road Runners and is held annually on the first Saturday in March. Registration opens November 1, 2025. The distance is a half marathon.
Course and race information
The course is an out-and-back on Wawawai River Road along the Snake River. The surface is paved and the course is USATF certified. The start and finish are at Wawawai Landing at a river elevation of about 720 feet. Mile markers are placed every mile. Water stations are provided about every 2 miles, with toilets available at each water station. Finish-line temperatures in the canyon are noted as close to 50 F in March.
Race policies state no bib swapping, no refunds, and no deferrals. If the in-person race cannot be held, a virtual option will be used. Running with pets, strollers, or biking on the course is not allowed. The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged. Race shirts are available for purchase for registrants who sign up before February 1st for a fee of $15. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
