The Snake River Canyon Half Marathon is held on the first Saturday in March every year. It is directed by the Palouse Road Runners.
Course Description
The race is a half marathon distance. It is a flat and paved out-and-back course along the Wawawai River Road, following the Snake River canyon. The course is USATF-certified. The start and finish line is at Wawawai Landing, at a river elevation of about 720 feet. The turnaround point is near Water Canyon. Mile markers are placed every mile. Water stations and toilets are available approximately every two miles.
Race Information
Cash prizes are offered for the overall winners: $200 for 1st place, $150 for 2nd place, and $100 for 3rd place, awarded in the women's, men's, and non-binary categories. Bib swapping is not permitted. There are no refunds or deferrals. If the event cannot be held in person, a virtual race will be conducted instead. Running with pets or strollers, and biking along the course, are not allowed. The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged. Race shirts are available for purchase ($15) for registrants who sign up before February 1st. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
