Snake River Canyon Half Marathon
The Snake River Canyon Half Marathon is scheduled for March 7, 2026 and is directed by the Palouse Road Runners. The event is held on the first Saturday in March each year and is described as the first big race of the season for the Quad Cities area. The venue is Wawawai Landing, with the out-and-back course running along Wawawai River Road beside the Snake River.
The course is flat, paved and USATF certified. The start and finish are at Wawawai Landing at a river elevation of about 720 feet. Mile markers are placed every mile and water stations are located about every 2 miles; toilets will be available at all water stations. Finish-line temperatures in the canyon are noted as close to 50 F in March. Shirts are available for purchase for $15 to those who register before February 1.
Registration will open November 1, 2025 and closes February 25, 2026. The race offers cash prizes of $200, $150 and $100 for first, second and third overall women, men and non-binary winners. Race policies include no bib swapping, no refunds or deferrals, and a virtual race option if the in-person event cannot be held. Running with pets, strollers or biking on the course is not allowed, and the use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
